masquerade; paper faces on parade

Clown…
Always laughing,
Always smiling,
Always happy…

Clown…
Throw pies at each other,
Make funny faces,
Do all kind of things,
Just to make people laugh.

They put on heavy makeup,
Wears outlandish costume,
Walk clumsily,
And smile happily…

Allowing people to laugh at them,
Allowing people to call them stupid,
Doing what other will not do,
Just to bring smile to people face.

But how many know what they are feeling?
How many knows how hard it is to be a clown?
How many knows how much it hurts to be a clown?
How many really cares about how clown feels?

They mask their tears in their heavy makeup.
They hide their bleeding heart behind those weird costumes.
They walk with unseen chain tied to their feet.
They smile and laugh and joke when they feel like crying.

No one will try to make a clown smile from the below of their heart,
‘Cause they feel that clown is happy.
No one will try to treat clown with respect,
‘Cause they think that clown is not respectable.

Clown…
Brave clowns…
Good old clowns…
Circus is lively because of you…

If you think that clown is not important in a circus,
Think again.
